Easy, Emergent, Beg. Rdr Scripts, Grades 6—8+, ESL & ELL

Encourage your emergent and beginning readers with easy Readers Theater scripts with a readability of grades K-2.  We tried to avoid including scripts that were too juvenile on this page, but you'll have to decide what's appropriate for YOUR students.

Choose from a wide menu of options from over 20 short vowel scripts and 16 long vowel scripts.  The Script Buffet serves plenty of partner plays for two readers or choral reading.  Plus, you'll discover a growing treasure trove of fiction and non-fiction scripts for primary level, special ed, and ESL or ELL students.

***  NOTE:  Make sure you check our Grades K-2 section in the Script Buffet Table under Easy, Emergent, Beginning Readers if you need to find scripts divided into subcategories (e.g., short vowel, long vowel, contractions, homophones, etc.).

Click on a Readers Theater script title below to read an excerpt from the script and access the printable PDF (complete with annotated curriculum links for easy lesson plans).

IMPORTANT:  Most of our scripts are available to our paying Script Buffet Club members only.  Each one pays a little and reaps a lot.  ;)
